Combination Drive & External Torx Screws
At Valley Fastener Group, we manufacture fasteners in a wide range of drive types to meet specific assembly, torque, and serviceability requirements. Each drive design is engineered for optimal tool engagement, consistent torque application, and long-term reliability. From traditional slotted drives to advanced multi-recess systems, our cold-formed and machined fasteners deliver precision performance and durability in every application.
Available Drive Types
- ACR Phillips II – An advanced design with anti-camout ribs that improve bit engagement and reduce stripping under high torque. Commonly used in automotive, appliance, and electronic applications where precision and repeatability are critical.
- Combination Drive – Features both a slotted and Phillips recess, providing flexibility in assembly and maintenance by accommodating multiple tool types. Ideal for field applications and general manufacturing.
- External Torx – Star-shaped external drive head offering high torque transfer, reduced tool wear, and excellent resistance to camout. Common in automotive, aerospace, and high-performance machinery.
- Hex Drive – Six-sided internal or external recess designed for high-torque applications. Offers strong tool engagement and easy installation using Allen or hex keys—frequently used in precision equipment and machinery.
- Hex Flange Drive – Combines a hexagonal head with an integrated washer face for greater load distribution and controlled torque application. Ideal for structural and high-vibration environments.
- Hex Head – Standard six-sided drive type allowing easy tightening and removal with wrenches or sockets. Known for strength and accessibility, commonly used in construction, heavy equipment, and manufacturing.
- Hex Washer Drive – Features a built-in washer beneath the hex head, improving clamping force and load spread while simplifying installation. Ideal for applications requiring secure, vibration-resistant fastening.
- Phillips Drive – The most widely recognized cross-shaped recess designed for efficient assembly and moderate torque control. Suitable for a broad range of general-purpose applications.
- Phillips 1A – A precision-engineered variation of the standard Phillips, offering improved torque transfer and bit retention for controlled assembly processes.
- Phillips Square Drive – Combines the benefits of Phillips and square recess designs, improving torque control and minimizing slippage during installation. Common in furniture, cabinetry, and industrial assembly.
- Slotted Drive – The original drive type featuring a single straight recess. Still used in decorative, restoration, and light-duty applications where a classic appearance or simple tooling is preferred.
