Trimming Services

Trimming is a secondary operation performed after the cold heading of a fastener. During cold heading, excess material may extend beyond the die cavity, forming an uneven or slightly oversized head. The trimming process removes this excess material to achieve the precise head diameter, shape, and surface finish required by the design. Trimming is commonly performed using a punch and die set that shears off the material in a controlled, repeatable manner.
