What Are the Benefits of Rivet Collars?
Collar rivets are ideal for demanding applications where traditional rivets & bolts may not provide sufficient strength or durability. They provide long-lasting, durable joining connections that can withstand harsh operating conditions including weather, vibration, and pressure, that may expand or contract the materials being joined.
How Do You Use Rivet Collars?
Collar rivets come in many styles that include solid, tubular or drilled and tapped shanks. The diameter of the shanks on either side of the collar can be the same or different and can be tubular, solid or threaded. Installation requires access to both sides of the material. Fastening a collar rivet to an assembly can be achieved by spin or impact clinching, and the collar rivet is secure once any remaining length is sheared off past the collar.
Common Applications of Collar Rivets

- Vehicle suspension and chassis assembly
- Heavy machinery construction
